Paris Photo Hotel 2026: Where to Stay for the Fair

Paris Photo 2026: Dates, Venue and Highlights

Paris Photo, the leading international fair dedicated to photography, opened its 29th edition from November 12 to 15, 2026 beneath the glass roof of the Grand Palais. Founded in 1997, the fair is directed by Florence Bourgeois, with Anna Planas as artistic director. The 2025 edition drew around 75,000 visitors.

This year coincides with the bicentennial of photography, two centuries after Nicéphore Niépce fixed the first images around 1826–1827. A guest collection created with the Centre Pompidou and themed curatorial routes mark the anniversary.

The Fair's Sectors

  • Principal: international galleries, from 19th-century prints to contemporary artists, plus large-scale Prismes projects
  • Emergence: young galleries and artists to discover
  • Editions: publishers and photobooks, with book signings
  • Voices: a sector curated by Zasha Colah and Francesco Zanot
  • Digital: digital image-making, curated by Marco De Mutiis

On Friday, November 13, the winners of the Paris Photo–Aperture PhotoBook Awards are announced. Find the full program and tickets on the official Paris Photo website. Tickets are sold online only, starting at €26 for evening or student entry.

From the Grand Palais to the Left Bank: A Central Paris Hotel

Dame des Arts is about 25 minutes from the Grand Palais: take the RER C from Saint-Michel Notre-Dame to Invalides, then walk across the Pont Alexandre III. On foot along the Seine, it's roughly a 35-minute walk past the Musée d'Orsay and the National Assembly.

Staying in central Paris means less time in transit between the fair, the galleries and dinner. Odéon metro station (lines 4 and 10) is also 5 minutes away, and Saint-Germain-des-Prés, the Latin Quarter and Île de la Cité are all within walking distance. Read why travelers choose a 4-star boutique hotel in central Paris.

Inside, images are already part of the stay. More than 70 works by artists linked to Saint-Germain, photographs among them, hang throughout the hotel, and each of the 109 rooms and suites has its own selection. Designer Raphaël Navot created the interiors, and 17 rooms look out over the Eiffel Tower.

If you came for Art Basel Paris 2026 in late October, the route is the same: that fair is also held at the Grand Palais.

PhotoSaintGermain: Photography on the Hotel's Doorstep

PhotoSaintGermain, a free photography festival, held its 15th edition from November 5 to 28, 2026 across more than 30 venues in the 6th arrondissement. It covers the whole of Paris Photo week and carries the fair into the galleries, institutions and bookshops of the Left Bank.

A few highlights from the 2026 program:

  • Musée national Eugène-Delacroix: an exhibition by Karen Knorr, on Place de Furstenberg
  • Académie des beaux-arts: Guillaume Herbaut work on Ukraine
  • Galerie VU': photographs by film director Park Chan-wook
  • Delpire & Co: "LAST RESORT" by Rafał Milach
  • Galerie Berthet-Aittouarès: a group show for the gallery's 40th anniversary
  • Beaux-Arts de Paris: a student show with France's national photography school in Arles

Most of these venues are less than 15 minutes on foot from rue Danton. Check the festival website for the full program and opening hours.

The Best Photo Spots Near the Hotel

The best photo spots near Hôtel Dame des Arts are all within a 12-minute walk, between the Seine and Saint-Germain. Between visits to Paris Photo, here are the shots our team recommends:

  • Cour du Commerce-Saint-André: 2 minutes away, an 18th-century cobbled passage lined with old facades, running parallel to rue Danton
  • Quai de Montebello: about 6 minutes away, the facade of Notre-Dame above the Seine, best in late afternoon
  • Pont Neuf and Square du Vert-Galant: about 8 minutes away, the tip of Île de la Cité at water level
  • Pont des Arts: about 10 minutes away, the dome of the Institut de France on one side, the Louvre on the other
  • Place de Furstenberg: about 10 minutes away, with its lampposts and paulownia trees in front of the Delacroix museum

In November, the sun sets around 5pm, so the low light on the quays is best between 4pm and 5pm. For more ideas, see our guide to the most photogenic spots from the hotel.

Dinner and Drinks at Pimpan and on the Rooftop

After the fair, the 9th-floor rooftop and Pimpan give you two options without leaving the hotel. The rooftop bar opens at 4pm on weekdays and 2pm on weekends, with 360° views of the Eiffel Tower, Notre-Dame, the Panthéon and Montmartre. In November, sunset comes just before cocktail hour, as described in our article on the most beautiful sunsets in Paris. Reservations are recommended.

On the ground floor, Pimpan restaurant, led by chef Clément Courtemanche and recommended by Gault & Millau 2027, serves seasonal French dishes made for sharing. Dinner is served nightly from 7pm to 10:15pm, after the fair closes at 8pm. On Saturdays and Sundays, brunch runs from 12pm to 3pm, an easy start before an afternoon at the fair.
